I live in Patterson, IL

After high school, I went to Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington for one year.  In May of 1968 I enlisted in the Army and was stationed at Ft Leonard Wood for basic training, Ft Bliss, TX from August of 1968 until December of 1969 as a radar instructor and Yong San, Korea from January of 1970 until February of 1971 as a radar technician.  I married my wife Jane in December of 1971.  I worked with my dad at Sorrells Garage and, following in his footsteps, started driving a school bus for North Greene in the spring of 1975.  I started playing steel guitar and keyboards in a band called Southern Knights in 1980.  Our daughter Jennifer was born in 1981, In 1982, I joined Flatland Band with Jerry Reno, Bill Dunlap, Gordy Cotter and Sam Dean taking Barry Martin's place.  Flatland has changed a little since and with Dan Henry in place of Sam Dean, we are back as we were in 1982 although we are playing 60's and 70's rock and roll instead of country rock.  I joined the Patterson Opry in 1989 and still play there.  In 1996 I took the job as Transportation Director at North Greene.  I started taking pictures for the paper in 2003 and in 2005 I started playing in a band called the Davey French and the Silver Spurs band.  I still play in three bands, take pictures and work as transportation director at North Greene and recently started upgrading some of the North Greene web sites, along with my own web site: www.dalesorrells.com  My e-mail address is dale@dalesorrells.com
