American Legion Scholarships are available in the Guidance Department
Lewis and Clark Scholarships are available in the Guidance Department
Costello-VanMeter Nursing Scholarship: A $500. Scholarship will be awarded to one boy and one girl. Applicants must have a GPA of C or better and plan to enter the field of nursing. Application deadline is May 10th. Applications are available in the guidance office.
HOPE Scholarship: Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to a male and a female applicant. All students attending a college, university, vocational, or trade school are eligible. Applications are available in the guidance office and are due by May 10th
Lions Club Scholarship: Two $500.00 scholarships will be awarded, one male and one female student. All students attending a college, university, vocational, or trade school are eligible. Applications are available in the guidance office, deadline is May 10th
Halli Burton Memorial Scholarship: One graduating female senior from NGHS who plans on attending college will have an opportunity to win a $500 scholarship which will be awarded by the Burton family. Interested seniors must submit an essay regarding the topic of "abuse". Essays must be in a sealed envelope addressed to the Halli Burton Memorial Scholarship. Deadline to turn in your essay is May 10th. The scholarship will be awarded on graduation night.
The North Greene Chamber of Commerce: A scholarship is being offered to college bound seniors. Applications are available in the guidance office. Deadline to apply is May 15th, 2010.
Farmers State Bank, White Hall Achievement Scholarship: To be awarded each year to a graduating senior of NGHS. The recipient will receive a one time $1,000 award to be distributed prior to starting his/her freshman year at any college or university. Deadline to apply is May 15th
Jessie Griswold Trust: A $1500 per semester loan provided thru White Hall Bank. The loan is interest free and does not have to be paid back until after graduation. Applications can be picked up in Ms. Pearcy's office or at White Hall Bank. Due date is June 1st
JCH Foundation Medical Education Fund Loan/Scholarship: Jerseyville Community Hospital Foundation is offering a Medical Education Scholarship Program for students pursuing a degree and a career in the healthcare/medical field. It is for $500 per semester. The deadline to apply is June 1st. Three letters of recommendation and a one page essay are required. Psi U Scholarship Grant Program: Awarding scholarships totaling $2,250 to three incoming male freshman attending the University of Illinois. Must display the highest moral, intellectual, and social excellence. Deadline to apply is September, 20th. Applications available online at www.illinipsiu.com
Wendy’s High School Heisman: Current Juniors with a “B” average and participating in a school sponsored sport are eligible to apply; applications are available online at www.wendysheisman.com. Deadline is October 3rd
SIUE School of Engineering: Seniors who plan on entering SIUE and majoring in Engineering should apply, see Ms. Pearcy or e-mail SOEpieces@lists.siue.edu for further information.
Activities
Saint Francis Medical Center College of Nursing: High School Student Early Admission Program open to students who have completed their junior year can apply for provisional acceptance to the College. Students must have a GPA of 4.25/5.0, are ranked in the top 25% of the class and have an ACT score 22 or higher. Applications are available online at www.sfmccon.edu.
"Get in the Game" Leadership Enrichment Camp: A 1 week residential program held at Bradley University. Applications are available in the office and due by May 14th.
Summer Forensics Institute at Bradley University: A 2-week summer camp for high school speech students. Fees do apply. Applications are available in the office and are due by June 18.
