As we all heard from Mr. Scott, if students are going to stay remote for next semester we will need to know by December 11th. We will running our remote program in partnership with Educere. There is information in Educere attached to this message. Your teachers would not be North Greene teachers and you will be receiving your grade through the Educere teachers. They will send you weekly progress and by weekly calls. If this is the option you want to go with let us know by December 11th. There are certain hands on courses that Educere may not be able to provide and students are NOT allowed to do part Educere, part in person. Your student will be required to do one or the other. So, they are either in person, or doing Educere. If a student is in person but has to quarantine because of COVID 19, they will be required to do their North Greene classes through Google meets until they are off quarantine.
Just a reminder that all remote students need to be logged into their classes and participating in discussion, or answering teachers questions to be counted as present. Too many students are logging in and walking away from their computers or not turning their camera on. So, if students want to be on remote and be considered present for class, they have to be logged in at their computers and participating in the class. Thank you! Have a nice day!
Juniors and parents/guardians: Any junior interested in taking the PSAT test in January (practice for the spring SAT test), $17 is due to the office by Thursday to reserve your test. This date has been extended a couple times, and Thursday is the LAST day to reserve the test!

A huge shout out goes to the North Greene JR/SR High on an outstanding week of education. Students and staff stepped up in a less than desirable situation to work together and produce something outstanding. Student attendance was excellent during live lessons throughout the building. Teachers were lecturing, leading discussions, and opening minds. Students were collaborating together to create projects, work problems, and organize information. I witnessed small group discussions in class, remotely, students creating digital gifs in art, students laughing and smiling, teachers enjoying their craft, paraprofessionals diligently getting lunches and information out to those in need, our kitchen staff making sure that no child goes hungry, custodians engaged in vital disinfection and cleaning, an office staff fielding phone calls from computer issues to scheduling questions, and an overall feel that was as close to normal as we can get right now. They have all made the decision, that instead of lamenting over what things "should be", to stand proud, and see what "could be", all for the greater good of our children. We are North Greene Proud, and we will continue to do whatever is necessary to improve the lives of our students.
Algebra 2 students need to come to the High School and pick up more books!

North Greene Athletics Update: Good morning. There have been several positive cases of Covid-19 just recently flood the North Greene Community, with many of our community members, students, and their families being exposed. At this time North Greene Unit District #3 is shutting down all extra-curricular activities until further notice. Primarily this will affect JH Baseball, JH Softball, and HS/JH Cross Country. North Greene administration has been in constant conversation with the Greene County Health Department over the recent surge in positive cases in our area, and we will continue to rely on them for guidance about when it will be safe to resume athletics and extra-curricular events in our area. I know we were very close to being able to offer the opportunities for our young people to participate in athletics, but right now the risk of exposure for them is just too great. Please keep yourself and your families safe, and adhere to the health and safety guidelines that have been put in place. Our diligence in combating this virus, and following the safety guidelines, will be the difference in how quickly we get our student athletes back to playing.
Cross Country Meeting: We will host an informational meeting for parents and athletes in the NGHS Gym, on Monday 8/10 at 6:00PM, for students interested in competing in Cross Country this fall. Enter through the North doors, and masks will be required. Thanks

We are awaiting school board approval before we commence trainings. All trainings will be outdoors, with Speed and Agility on the FB field, and Power training in the parking lot. All safety protocols will be taken to ensure the safety and well being of our athletes and coaches. Check out the North Greene HS web page for more information.
