North Greene Junior Senior High School
4th quarter 2020 grading
Remote Learning
All grades are based on participation/completion

Dear North Greene Nation,

I know we have all been awaiting a decision on what we are doing as far as grades are concerned. After a serious deliberation, North Greene Junior Senior High has a plan that will allow all students to not be harmed, but make sure they have some accountability for the remote learning process.

  1. Teachers will choose 1 grade per week to enter in for students. This grade can be a packet, a quiz, test, project, etc...

  • Seniors- 6 total grades by May 8th

  • 7th-11th- 7 total grades by May 15th.

  • Each assignment will be put in for 10 points each.

  • At the end of the quarter, the total points for Seniors will be 60 points, and for 7th-11th it will be 70 points.

  • We will start putting grades into Skyward and they will calculate as normal (A,B,C,D,F).

  • At the end of the 4th quarter, the student’s grade for any student who has A-D the “P” will be put in skyward. For students who have an F, and “I” will be put into skyward.

  • Students are highly encouraged to turn in completed work according to their teacher's direction, or if you are doing paper/pencil you can drop the work off in the main office, or the drop box in the shed at the East end of the school, by the Junior High entrance. Students dropping off completed work to NGJSHS should have their name , teacher’s name, and the class period at the top of their work. Hard copies can be turned in Monday-Friday from 8-1. All must be completed and turned in by:

    • Seniors- Friday May 8th, 2020

    • 7th-11th-Friday, May 15th

  1. All grades for GPA and Ranking will end at 1st semester. 2nd semester will be either a “P” or an “I”.

  • Grades will only be a P or and I : issued as follows

    • A-D for the 3rd quarter + a “P” for the 4th quarter=”P” for the 2nd semester

    • F for the 3rd quarter + “P” for the 4th quarter= “P” for the 2nd semester

    • A-D for the 3rd quarter + “I” for the 4th quarter= “I” for the 2nd semester

    • F for the 3rd quarter + “I” for the 4th quarter= “I” for the 2nd semester

  • Students who have an “I” will have until 2 weeks after the start of the next school year to complete their remote learning to receive a “P” instead of an “I”.

  • If the remote learning work is still not turned after the 2 weeks, the grade will become an “NC”, which does not count against a students GPA, but will require them to repeat the course.

  1. While Junior High students will still be promoted, they are also responsible for completing a passing amount of their remote learning in order to receive a “P” for passing.
